UNDERSTANDING YOUR BOOKING

Refund Policy

Know what is being refunded, who is responsible for the payment and how to follow the progress of an eligible refund.

Last updated:

1. When a refund may be due

A refund may arise from a refundable fare, a supplier-approved cancellation, a service that was not provided, or a right under applicable law. Voluntarily choosing not to travel on a restricted booking can have a different outcome from an airline cancelling a flight.

Globixfare reviews the booking details and applicable conditions when assisting with refund enquiries. This policy does not replace mandatory refund rights, and supplier restrictions cannot override rights that apply to your booking.

2. Understanding the amount

Ask for an itemized explanation of the refundable amount. Where permitted, the calculation may reflect services already used, supplier cancellation penalties and service charges disclosed when booking. A package can have a different refundable amount for each component.

Fees must be assessed against your booking terms and applicable law. Do not assume that every payment charge or agency fee is deductible in every situation. Currency movements or the payment provider's exchange rate may affect the amount shown in your account.

3. Who issues the refund

The organization that charged you may be the airline, another supplier, a payment provider or Globixfare. Check your receipt and payment statement to identify the merchant of record. We can help explain where a refund enquiry should be directed.

For applicable U.S. air travel, ticket agents that are the merchant of record have refund responsibilities when an airline cancels or significantly changes a flight. Airline ancillary-service refunds can have different rules.

4. Information to include in a refund enquiry

Send your booking reference, traveler name, affected service, cancellation confirmation if available and a short explanation of the refund you are requesting. We may ask for information needed to verify the booking and prevent a refund being issued to the wrong person.

  • Keep the booking confirmation, invoice and supplier messages.
  • Identify any replacement travel, voucher or credit you accepted.
  • Share a transaction reference or masked payment information if requested; do not email a full card number or security code.

5. Payment method and processing time

Eligible refunds are normally returned through the original payment method, subject to the payment provider's process and any lawful, verified alternative arrangement. Contact us if that account has closed so the appropriate route can be checked.

Processing time depends on the type of refund, responsible merchant and payment provider. We will explain the status and any available estimate rather than promising one deadline for every booking. Where a legal deadline applies, that deadline takes precedence over a general estimate.

6. Travel credits and vouchers

A travel credit is different from a cash refund. Review its validity, permitted routes or services, traveler restrictions and any difference in fare before choosing it.

Where the law entitles you to a monetary refund, a credit should not be treated as a replacement without the choice required by that law. Tell our team whether you are asking about a credit balance or a refund to your payment method.

7. Following up on a pending refund

Quote your booking reference and any refund acknowledgement when contacting Globixfare. If a refund has been issued, ask for the transaction or payment reference available from the responsible merchant and check with your payment provider.

If the amount does not match the explanation provided, send the relevant records so the discrepancy can be reviewed. Do not submit duplicate refund requests without telling the parties already handling the case.
